Dougie to all of us) is the Vice Provost of the Cathedral. He has served in a variety of parishes over the years,

Stuart
Muir was appointed as Pastoral Musician to St Paul's in
September 2000. This full-time post as Pastoral Musician is a
first of its kind in the Scottish Episcopal Church. His remit is
the coordination of the musical and liturgical life at St
Paul's, encouraging the Cathedral community in participating in
both of these areas. Having studied in Glasgow at the RSAMD and
served in
St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral, he still has links with 'the
west' working with the resource group of the Iona Community.

The Reverend
F Hugh Magee is also actively involved in the Cathedral. Although much of his ministry has
taken place in the Episcopal Church in the United States, Hugh has had a long association with St. Paul’s, where he
served as a chaplain under three provosts in the 1970s. He has served
most recently as Communications Officer for the Diocese of Spokane in
the U.S. and as Dean of Wenatchee. |

….
to write down all of a cathedral Vergers duties would take up
several pages!.. As well as being 'upfront' carrying out various
duties during services, much of the Verger's work is ' behind
the scenes' ensuring the smooth running of the day to day life
of a Cathedral. For Tom Malcolm, our verger, 'variety is
the spice of life!' He enjoys his many different jobs in and
around St Paul's - particularly welcoming visitors from all over
the world to the Cathedral. If you happen to pop in for a visit
he can give you a great tour - he knows the history of just
about every nook and cranny of the place!

The
Sacristan is one of the crucial 'behind the scenes' worker but
enables the smooth running of an Episcopal Church…. basically
they ensure that the right things are ready to go to the right
place at the right time! And so Rosemary Eddy is always kept busy looking after altar linen,
preparing chalices etc for services and making sure the supplies
of candles, incense, bread and wine are kept healthy!…. and
she does all this with a cheery smile.
