Joyce,
our fully qualified cook, works closely with staff and parents so that
individual children's’ dietary requirements can be catered for. All
meals are freshly prepared and home baking is offered. Children are
participate in laying the tables and preparing snacks, serving themselves
at mealtimes under supervision. They are encouraged to sample a wide range
of different foods, the aim being, even at this early age, to encourage
them in life-long patterns of healthy eating.
Meals
are prepared in accordance with the nutritional guidelines laid down by
the Scottish Executive in ‘Nutritional
guidance for early Years – food choices for children aged 1-5’.
